Keeping Fort Wayne Children Warm with the Fort Wayne Police Department

On December 9, 2017, the Fort Wayne Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated supported the Fifth Annual Fall Harvest Children’s Coat Drive and Giveaway in partnership with the Fort Wayne Police Department.

The event helped ensure that children throughout the Fort Wayne community were prepared for the winter season. Chapter members assisted with organizing donations, sorting coats, and preparing items for distribution.

Members also worked directly with families to help children select coats that fit properly and reflected their individual preferences. Their hands-on support helped create an organized and welcoming experience for everyone involved.

The coat drive demonstrated the value of community partnership and practical service. Through collaboration with the Fort Wayne Police Department and other participating organizations, the chapter helped meet an immediate need for local children and families.
