On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, the Fort Wayne Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated hosted a virtual conversation focused on addiction, recovery, and support for individuals and families affected by substance use disorder.

Guest speaker Aisha Diss, founder and executive director of project.ME, shared her lived experience and discussed her work supporting individuals affected by long-term opioid use disorder and involvement in the justice system. Her perspective offered attendees a deeper understanding of the challenges surrounding addiction and the importance of sustained recovery support.

Dr. Lakeya Stewart, a trained mental health professional and spiritual leader, moderated the discussion and guided a thoughtful question-and-answer session with attendees.

The chapter extends its appreciation to the speakers and everyone who joined the conversation through Facebook Live. Through education and open dialogue, the event helped raise awareness, encourage healing, and support individuals and families affected by addiction.
